Downeast™ Announces New Corporate Headquarters
SALT LAKE CITY—Downeast™ officially announced a new corporate headquarters. The offices are located in Holladay at 6415 S 3000 E, Suite 220. Employees began moving into the new 13,000-square-foot space the end of February. The interior design was created by designers Kimberly Christiansen and Brooke Rydalch of Malouf Studios™.
“The goal for this project was to create a new concept space for Downeast™ that was reflected in the branding and design approach,” said Principal Designer for Malouf Studios™, Kim Christiansen. “The inspiration was incorporating the Downeast™ furniture collection into the office by pairing it with elements of a home-like atmosphere. An office is your home away from home. It’s all about evoking emotion in the overall mood and feeling of the space.”
Over the next 12 months, Downeast™ retail stores will have an overall new look and customer experience. This rebranding strategy began at the end of 2020 with the renovated flagship Downeast Home™ Concept Store at the District in South Jordan. Last month, Downeast™ was named a Certified B Corporation® and these exciting changes have started rolling out corporate wide.
“All of the changes that customers and employees will notice in the stores and our new headquarters is the future direction of Downeast™. We have been a local retailer in the home and clothing industry for the past 30 years. It was really important that our new corporate headquarters reflect the next chapter for our iconic brand,” said Downeast™ CEO Rich Israelsen.
The horizon is bright for the Utah-based brand, the company is invested in employees enjoying their collaborative workspace. Whether employees decide to work from home or in the office, Downeast™ has created a space that will inspire, uplift and help employees to be excited to come to work.
“We listened to what the employees wanted in their new office space,” said Brooke Rydalch, Junior Designer of Malouf Studios™. “It was important to meet these needs. A few of the key elements are: a state-of -the-art breakroom with a fully stocked kitchen, entertainment features including large screened TV’s, music, games and a space to enjoy eating lunch and gathering together. Also included in the space are beautiful art pieces, lighting and accessories that invite a home-like atmosphere.”
